Learn Jazz Piano Playing from Doug McKenzie at Youtube

Doug McKenzie is a retired teacher in a jazz studies course at a tertiary college in Geelong Australia.
He records video on a cheap web camera and mp3 file MP3 file on his computer and as a midi file on his Yamaha P-250 piano all at the same time so all are synchronized.

On August 02, 2006 he posted his first Youtube video “Easy living”. You can watch this video here. Since then, this video has been view more than 19,000 times and rated 4 stars and above. I personally enjoy every video he posted at Youtube. There is no talking on his video, but you can see clearly how he presses the keyboards because he shoots from top view. He also adds text comments, instructions and explanation throughout his video.

 

Until the point of writing, he had posted 43 videos. If you want to learn about jazz piano playing, you shouldn’t miss Doug’s video.

 

He played all the songs recorded live. Sometimes there are some other accompaniments like bass and drum pre-programmed before he did the recording. Here is the list of song he had played:

    Hello dear friend. I congratulate to you to realise this compilation. I admire very enormously to Doug McKenzie, his form to execute the instrument is similar to Vile Evans. Doug McKenziees for my a teacher I always hear, it and he has taught to me very enormously, thanks to you to send your compilation, gustaria to obtain musical scores to me. So long friend.     Hiya Doug If your ‘offerings ‘ were on the LP vinyl of old the stylus would have come through to the other side by now .
